Upgrade a hundred developers to Drupal 8
Drupal 8 brings quite some changes, very positive changes but changes nonetheless. Besides a new codebase, there are new concepts, new design patterns, new processes, best practices, and all of these need to be learned.
At Wunderkraut, we have over a hundred Drupal developers, all of them with solid experience with Drupal 7 but varying degrees of familiarity with Symfony, OOP and Drupal 8 in general, so just letting everyone learning "on the spot" is not an option. We needed to have a plan, in order to learn effectively, but also to learn consistently to keep everybody's best practices aligned.
In this presentation I'd like to share how we addressed the challenge, and what we learned along the way.
